At the start of my MasterCom experience, I was a leader in a fast-paced tech company in China. Despite the speed of our culture, I was the kind of person that preferred to reflect and think of the question or answer before asking or answering. I wanted to thoughtfully consider the situation and to give the correct answer, or to ask the meaningful question.
However, being slow at that, didn’t feel like a good thing.
I have gone through dozens of workshops on communication, empathy, mindfulness, including some with the stamps of approval from top Fortune 500 companies.
Still, MasterCom offered me something that none of those brand name programs talked about.
My MasterCom experience made me realize that I didn’t have to have all the answers, or to give advice.
I felt that I had more to offer people.
By focusing more on what people are saying, and by giving them the time to respond, my questions will help them.
Through MasterCom, I became better at asking the right questions and now I have a framework to help people think through issues that they are facing.
And while this was very helpful at work, I didn’t expect to see such a difference in my personal life.
This program reminded me that there's always something to learn.
And I’m glad I made the decision to join MasterCom, because it made me a better leader, then, and has made me a better entrepreneur, today.
